Since the start of the 1980s, RIVARD has been present on the Public Works markets, and more specifically for earth-moving activities. We initially started with UNIMOG carrier-mounted road drainage machines, before naturally as a manufacturer developing trenchers with mechanical installation to support network deployment on all terrains (HVB, HVA, Water, Gas, Fibre, etc.). As a heavy equipment manufacturer with command of suction techniques, we quickly entered the suction excavation market.

RIVARD’s adventure with trenchers began in the1980s. RIVARD’s wide range of skills and command of production, combined with its close attention to what its customers were saying enabled to company to position itself as the reference company in the market.

Using trenchers with mechanised installation presents numerous advantages in relation to traditional methods (backhoe loaders or mechanical diggers). Everyone who uses a trencher agrees on one thing.

Network deployment costs may be reduced by 50% depending on the type of site, the equipment and the tool used. Deployment is up to 10 times shorter and enables quicker network commissioning.

The number of elements involved (operators and equipment) is limited and the site can be restored to its original condition more simply, which enables better movement for residents near the working area. The constraints for residents are reduced since the trenchers make less noise and generate less dust than traditional methods.

RIVARD proposes a range of trenchers from micro to macro and the versatility of the machines and choice of options offer a high degree of flexibility. RIVARD trenchers combine reliability, robustness and productivity to guarantee on-site performance. RIVARD’s trenchers are characterised by the results of their mechanised installation and their ease of curved cutting.

Our suction excavator models

Thousands of kilometres of networks are damaged every day during digging operations, often seriously, with very high repair costs.

Several processes have been developed to limit risks, such as suction excavation. This presents several advantages:

  • Limited environmental impact
  • Greater accessibility
  • Little equipment used
  • Increased productivity
  • Economical solution
  • Cleaner site
  • Numerous applications possible
  • Reduced noise annoyance

RIVARD’s command of waste suction and transport naturally encouraged the company to move into suction excavation. From the middle of the 1990s onwards, RIVARD developed equipment for a French energy supplier to carry out its digging operations.

We propose two suction excavator models, on 26t and 32t carrier, which benefit from a host of options and can suck up all types of material, whether solid, paste or liquid.

A lot of tasks can be accomplished with a suction excavator:

  • Network burial

There’s also an update in the PW catalogue, what is it? Restoration and surveying of buried networks

  • Function stripping
  • Suction on roof terrace, attic space suction
  • Storm basin cleaning
  • Cleaning of manholes, gutters, cellars, etc.
  • Safe tree clearance
  • Earth-moving for masts or signposts
