In 1952, Gustave RIVARD started working in agricultural mechanics in Daumeray, Maine et Loire. Agriculture being important and varied in the region, Gustave RIVARD is very often contacted to adapt equipment for multiple applications.
Very quickly, the RIVARD company becomes a dealer for the charismatic MERCEDES UNIMOG.
This “all-terrain truck” model allows RIVARD to develop equipment for various activities.
It is only at the end of the 60’s, that RIVARD intensifies its production of sewage combination units and dredgers.
In the early 80’s, the dredgers evolved into trenchers with mechanized laying.
The knowledge of suction techniques pushed naturally RIVARD towards the manufacturing of suction excavators.
RIVARD’s numerous skills also allow it to collaborate on large-scale, high-tech projects: the cleaning train in the Channel Tunnel, the oil spill clean-up cushion, the raft for river clean-up, and various projects integrating Ultra High Pressure.
This year, the RIVARD company celebrates its 70th anniversary, employing more than 300 collaborators.
